We outgrew Mable I Wilson years ago.

4th and 5th graders are at the middle school. The playground and field are dominated by rows of portable classrooms.

So much time and careful planning went into building a new elementary school. It costs a lot to continually survey new potential properties, it costs a lot to hire experts that are skilled in predicting town growth, it costs a lot to hire architects and designers to design a school. There was little to no campaign done to share with the town just how necessary this expensive endeavor is and so all that money was thrown away when voters voted against the school.

The worst part, the solution was needed years ago and we are back to the drawing board. However, what is the solution beyond a bigger building? Bigger property?

We are proposing a Spring referendum vote for the fully designed, partially funded school. More info on this soon with a proper community wide understanding of why it’s needed and how much it will cost taxpayers. We will also be breaking down how much it’s already cost taxpayers.

For all of you who voted NO because of price or location, we will be listening to you and taking your questions to the board. Your concerns matter to us and we know there’s answers to these questions, those answers just never reached you!

6pm board meetings are tough on parents making dinner and putting kids to bed. We are hoping to help be a bridge!
